Exercising the craft—November 2, 2015

Prompt: Write a 20-line poem where every line begins with the first letter of your first name. The only rule is that it can’t be about you.

Evolve, the world does.

Ever changing,

Ever challenging.

Enough time passes and

Everyone searches for answers.

Easy, the search is not.

Everyone yearns for the

Essence. The

Essence of what we are, who we are,

Even where we came from.

Especially where we’re going.

Enter the yearning for significance.

Every person searches for it.

Every person wants to matter.

Every person wants to stand out.

Endings approach;

Easy, they are not.

Erase the mistakes of your past.

Even out the playing field for your future.

Events do not define you; your heart does.
